Aside from management stints at aerospace businesses, the space program, and the military, as well as taking summer advanced novel courses at the Iowa Writers Workshop, S.A. Clark was a nationally-syndicated columnist for 19 years.

His unique columns won numerous awards for originality, voice, and content.  He also wrote
two hard-cover books (“Beating the Odds” and “Unleashing the Hidden Power”) which were published by AMACOM Books in New York. “Beating the Odds” was chosen as one of the best business books of the year.

As the 21st Century dawned, S. A. Clark retired from writing non-fiction and turned exclusively
to SF, because science fiction has always been his passion.  His parallel past careers as a NASA engineer, aerospace executive, and decorated Vietnam combat pilot have all contributed to the realism of his SF writing.

His SF endeavors thus far consist of several short stories and “The Gifting ,” the first-volume manuscript of a SF trilogy.  He is currently working on the second volume of this trilogy. All of his stories have a recurring sense of place; they are set in the present-day United States.
